A former international financier, Maxima was born in Argentina and married into the Dutch royal family in 2002, three years after meeting her husband-to-be in Seville, Spain.
Queen Máxima of the Netherlands was on a three-day visit to Luxembourg with husband King Willem-Alexander.
Royal watchers know she loves and looks fabulous in yellow. On her first day, she was in a show-stopping canary-yellow gown for a banquet hosted by the royal family at the Grand Ducal Palace. On her head is a tiara with diamonds that match her earrings and brooch.
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore a powder pink gown with an embellished bodice for the banquet.

Queen Consort Maxima was in a chic chartreuse ensemble when she and her husband met with Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Xavier Bettel earlier. She had a form-fitting dress with long sleeves and an A-line skirt cinched at the waist that fell just above the knee.
Maxima matched the piece with a coordinating pair of heels and a stylish hat. Meanwhile King Willem and Xavier looked dapper in a suit and tie.
Queen Maxima and the Grand Duchess Maria-Teresa of Luxembourg attended an official welcome ceremony at the Grand Ducal Palace. Maria Teresa, 62, looked chic in a champagne coloured jacket and white shift dress.
Willem-Alexander became king after his mother, Beatrix, abdicated in April 2013 after 33 years on the throne.
