With royal women’s commitment to pay homage to the country they’re visiting, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands didn’t mind adding another layer in the form of a pashmina to her elegant baby blue sleeveless dress for her meeting in Delhi.
With temperatures reaching the high 40s, she wrapped herself up in a chic patterned pashmina the moment she sat for her UN meeting on May 28.

The Dutch Queen visited the local coordinator and representative of the UN, Yuri Afanasiev.

She is visiting India at the invitation of the government and in her role as special advocate of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for inclusive financing for development.
The Dutch royal is a UN Secretary General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development and Honorary Patron of the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion.
She got appointed to the role in 2009. With this, she advises the Secretary-General and works worldwide to make financial services accessible to all, including low-income groups.
Later that same day, Maxima met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for state discussions. |
Instead of having an outfit change, she added and elegant topaz and diamond brooch for her outfit in honor of this meeting wherein they talked about global development finance.
