Meghan Made Prince Charles’ Birthday Party Look Staged

It’s the heir to the throne’s 70th birthday party. But this time, it’s a cause for more curiosity than usual because it’s the first official royal event of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan.

Already looking like a part of the firm, gone is the Hollywood glamour. A regal-looking Meghan donned a $590 peach dress from the UK brand Goat made popular by Kate Middleton. The Duchess of Sussex had a custom hat by Philip Treacy and nude heels.

Prince Harry wore a traditional morning suit with a yellow waistcoat and blue tie.

The Duke of Sussex gave a speech where he paid tribute to his father’s charity work and his “selfless drive to affect change”.

Looking too excited in her display of emotions, to which many outspoken media personalities spoke against of even before her marriage, the new Duchess of Sussex stole the show as her new husband gave a speech in honour of his father. Hollywood can never be more proud.

There was even a shot of Meghan touching Harry’s back as they walked up the stairs of Buckingham Palace. This should come across as nice but in the realm of royal watchers, only someone in the stature of Princess Diana can get away with all her too uncontrolled show of emotions. Meghan’s very obvious show of emotions looks staged and lacking in taste.

There’s something that doesn’t ring true in many of the things we’ve seen so far since she catapulted as Harry’s girl. Am I right or am I right?

Indulge me looking at a case of two different personalities: Princess Diana and Fergie. Both don’t hold back in showing their emotions but at least the public is somehow at ease because there’s consistency in their actions. The idea that “It’s What Princess Di Would Had Done” or “It’s What Fergie Would Had Done” is a natural reaction. But with Meghan, it’s more of like “Who is the director?”

Getting perfect screen shots, to which she earned a living might’ve worked for her in the past, but not in this family.

This is how royals act in public. Might be a little stiff but they're not acting.

If what we’re seeing is really Meghan, she’ll stick out like a sore thumb. It’s going to be worse than what Princess Diana had or what the ostracized Fergie is still experiencing. We are looking at a case of Princess Masako of Japan to which her high-profile job in the Foreign Ministry before her royal marriage led her to suffer from a mental breakdown for at least a decade due to the restrictive world of royal life.

Prince Harry loves Meghan no doubt about it, but whoever said that you can’t always marry the one you love applies here. Meghan might love Prince Harry but when one starts having a feeling that something looks “staged,” no one feels at ease.

Anyway, let’s just wait and hold our breaths and see what happens to this thousand-year-old monarchy with this new recruit to their family. They already embraced divorce anyway.

But back to the party, more than 6000 charity workers got the privilege of getting invited. This birthday celebration is held very much in advance of Prince Charles’ birthday in November.
