Is Crown Princess Mary Copying the Fashion Sense of the Duchess of Cambridge?

Crown Princess Mary had far longer been a figurehead than the Duchess of Cambridge. However, the moment Prince William married Kate Middleton, it seemed the Crown Princess started copying the fashion sense of the Duchess.

Many fashion and royal watchers are aware that Duchess Kate only has to wear an outfit, hat, jewelry or shoes and after a couple of weeks, there’s an 87% chance that the Danish royal would show up in a similar fashion item.

Just recently, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark attended the official public ribbon cutting ceremony for the Nordic Museum. She stepped out in one of Kate’s favourite colors in a cape dress with a stunning floral brooch. The fashionable royal added a gold necklace. Likewise, in a true Kate Middleton style, Princess Mary added nude pumps and a pair of drop pearl earrings which the Duchess is fond of.

Considering their coloring and all the protocols these two royal women have to follow in dressing up, there is really a chance they’ll turn out the same. But these two aren’t the only royal brunettes. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden is also a brunette but the way she looks when she turns out in public functions had never been remotely the same like that of Princess Mary and Duchess Kate.

And what about the two beautiful and fashionable queens? The coloring and facial features of Queen Rania of Jordan and Queen Letizia of Spain are more similar than that of Mary and Kate but no one ever accused of these two queens of copying one another.

It may be an overreach but I always feel something is off when Princess Mary dresses up. Fashion designers from these two royal women’s countries should be top priorities. So, how can they look eerily the same? Include the fact that the Danish royal household has consecutive yeas of asking for more budget from the Danish government. This is a far cry from the Royal House of Windsor wherein the Duchess gets criticism for recycling her clothes too much.

However, there’s something good when you have a fashion role model: you can make your outfits look better. In fairness to Princess Mary, it does seem that her fashion choices are oftentimes better because she looks younger and more high-end while the Duchess of Cambridge looks older and sometimes too safe and boring. She always looks like she’s wearing protocol than fashion.
