With the Queen marking her 92nd official birthday with the Trooping the Colour at Whitehall’s Horse Guards Parade, many royal fans were eager to see Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

This is the first time the Duchess of Sussex is joining everyone at the balcony. Sadly, though the hype of the wedding three weeks ago hasn’t completely died down, it’s on this balcony that the truth is very clear: Meghan had her day. She may have gotten her prince, but at the end of it all, it’s still Kate’s realm. She is, after all the future Queen Consort of England. Meghan Mania disappeared. It isn’t just Meghan standing behind the Duchess. It’s the power of Kate’s impact. Prince William definitely didn’t choose wrong. No amount of movie stardom can give anyone Kate’s presence. Sorry, Meghan.
Even the Carolina Herrera’s pink bardot button midi dress and Philip Treacy hat weren’t enough to make her stand out. Meghan disappeared, except when she tilted her head and we saw her cheekbones. Thank God for Hollywood makeup tricks. Meghan picked a wrong role to play. There’s no impact at all.
